    Canadian Military Performs Gay Wedding in Nova Scotia

Two male members of the Canadian military were married at the chapel on the Greenwood, Nova Scotia base in May, in what's being called the military's first gay wedding. A sergeant and a warrant officer were married in front of about 45 guests.
The CBC reports on the gay marriage of two military men, officially sanctioned by the Canadian Military, and performed in a chapel on a military base. For some strange reason, the non-gay couples in Nova Scotia still seem to be married - despite this marriage of two gay men. The article makes no mention of straight soldiers in showers, or troop morale, it simply and calmly presents the fact that two gay guys got married in the military.

What is it that the Canadians know but Americans do not know? Quite a bit, I suspect, but in the case of marriage Canadians seem to realize that having more married couples is good for society, and having fundamentalist hate mongers running your government is bad.

You've just got to love Canada! Anyone with any sense at all has got to realize that Canadians are more worldly and less obsessive than their warmongering neighbors to the south.

In Canada, people are friendly, even to strangers, and they do not expect everyone they meet to try to rape, pillage, or terrorize them. Canadians are not chicken shit idiots afraid of their own shadows.

Thank you Canada for being our neighbor. If only we would let your good influence have more effect on us.
