Republicans claim to be against Big Government, but are still willing to sell access to the President for Big Checks. Is the current administration running a government of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations?
Sometimes a US citizen will move from a government position into the private sector, and in some of these cases it is done so they can market their inside connections. For a simple case in point, consider Therese Shaheen, a former US envoy to Taiwan. She left her government position to start a marketing firm. Her only known product is corporate access to George W Bush. You can read the details in a typically well written article on the Mother Jones website.

For the paltry sum of $250,00 dollars Ms Shaheen was able to get her business clients exclusive VIP access to the President. (related book)

Is it in the interests of the citizens of the USA to have their president pandering to big business? Or is it possibly the case that the interests of the citizens have nothing to do with the actions of My Stupid President?

And really, in the final analysis, is the president really as stupid as the things he says in public? Or is he, like his confidant Karl Rove, merely an expert at telling people what they want to hear?

For a mere $250,000 you could ask My Stupid President these questions.
