Alberto R. Gonzales produced legal documents claiming that Bush was not bound by the Geneva Conventions, now Bush wants him as Attorney General. Excuse me?
George W Bush is so stupid that he does not realize this simple fact, if we become as evil as our enemies, then we no longer have moral ground to stand on. Or maybe he does realize this but just does not care. In either case, his Jaheezus freak infested administration has been moving us constantly closer and closer to a murderous, despotic theocracy.

Does the USA really admire countries like Iran so much that we want to be just like them?

Is the best man for the job of Attorney General really the one who set in motion the Bush Administration policy changes allowing our boys and girls to torture towel heads as much as they wanted?

There can be no doubt that it was these official documents of the Bush Administration, which made ludicrous claims that the Geneva Conventions do not apply to our Jaheezus Boy President, that led directly to the abuses at Abu Ghraib and the continuing prisoner abuse at Guantanamo.

If we ignore for a moment the obvious reasons for moral outrage that the actions of Mr Gonzales present, we can consider whether or not we want an Attorney General that is best known for producing opinions that conflict directly with the Traditional Family Values of our society. I make the assumption that Traditional Family Values, a registered trademark of the Republican Party, do not include torturing prisoners of war.

No doubt Mr Gonzales is an intelligent and well educated man. I'm sure he considers himself to be highly patriotic. But the position of Attorney General really requires a man devoted both to the spirit and the letter of the law. Mr Gonzales somehow comes across as slimy. How much can we admire a man that both recommends and defends the policy of torturing prisoners of war?

If this was a democracy, I'd ask my representatives to vote against Alberto R. Gonzales.
